Stevensville’s Best for Jiu-Jitsu and MMA

Our name “5th Gen” is a reference to our school’s relationship to Professor Vicente Junior, 4th Generation Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.

The heritage traces back as follows:

5th Gen BJJ -> Vicente Junior -> Ricardo De La Riva -> Carlson Gracie -> Georges Mehdi.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Jiu-jitsu is a grappling martial art. It teaches humility, focus, grit, and discipline, along with real-world skills in self-defense on the ground.

Our gym offers classes for adults and kids several days a week. We are friendly to grapplers of all levels and abilities.

Mixed Martial Arts

Our MMA class is technique heavy, and does include light sparring in every class. Don’t feel overwhelmed, though. They are beginner friendly, and you will work at your comfort and skill level.

Combat Conditioning (C3)

We offer a combat conditioning class we call C3. Think of it as cardio kickboxing meets HIIT.

These classes are an incredible way to get in shape while learning hand to hand skills that contribute to self-defense. Our head instructor for this class has decades of experience along with a personal training certification.

  • Check our class schedule. That’s where you’ll find the latest info about our schedule, including any holiday/miscellaneous cancellations!

  • Right now, after your initial free 2 week trial, our membership prices are as follows:

Unlimited any class: $135 a month.

    C3/MMA: $99 a month.

    Kids memberships: $99 a month.

We also offer 10-class passes for $200.

Soon, we will be migrating to one price for everything, but we’ll update you when that time comes.

  • 5/6 is usually the youngest age we recommend for starting Jiu-Jitsu, but there is a lot of variance in children’s maturity, attention span, and abilities.

If your child is younger than this and you think they would be a good fit, bring them in! Have them try out a class, and talk to the instructors. An exception may be made!

  • There’s no good way to answer this question.

Jiu Jitsu is a great workout, and you learn real life applicable skills. It’s also a great character builder, and requires active problem solving. Some people refer to it as Human Chess.

The only way to really know is to come try a class. We offer two week free trials for this exact reason. It takes a few classes to get a feel for whether or not you’ll stick with it.

  • Absolutely not. Yes we do sparring during most classes, but it is entirely at your own pace. Communicate! Pick a partner who will work at your level (or someone who matches you already) and you’ll do great. You’ll find most people here are super friendly, and we have people at all skill levels.

  • Yep! Talk to Dylan or Ryan at the gym and they’ll give you the hook-up!
